Sincerely Inviting You to Gather in Tainan for the 38th Annual Meeting of TAO: "Blended Orthodontics: Tradition & Innovation"

Dear Esteemed Doctors,

I cordially invite you to participate in 38th Annual Meeting of TAO, which will be held from December 6 to December 7, 2025, at ICC Tainan. This year's conference theme is "Blended Orthodontics: Tradition & Innovation," focusing on the intersection and integration of traditional wisdom and innovative techniques in the field of orthodontics.

The year 2024 marks the significant milestone of Tainan's 400th anniversary. Hosting the Annual Meeting in this historic city carries profound meaning. Tainan is not only the earliest developed city in Taiwan but also a fertile ground for the cultivation of medical and humanistic spirit. As early as the 19th century, Western missionary Dr. James Maxwell established Taiwan's first Western-style hospital, " Khòan-sai Street Clinic," ushering in a new chapter for modern medicine in Taiwan. From the dawn of Western medicine to today's advanced healthcare, Tainan has consistently played a crucial role, witnessing every step of Taiwan’s medical progress.

For this year’s Annual Meeting, we would like to extend our special thanks to Chairperson,  Dr. Chun-Liang Kuo, and the southern organizing team for their willingness to take on significant responsibilities, allowing this gathering of wisdom and passion to shine brightly in a city where medicine and humanities intertwine. This Annual Meeting will invite top experts and scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds to delve into the latest developments and clinical applications in orthodontics. In addition to an exciting and rich academic agenda, the organizing committee has also meticulously planned cultural tours, including visits to the Chimei Museum and the Ten-Drum- Cultural Village, allowing participants to personally experience the unique cultural atmosphere and historical splendor of Tainan. Let us step into “Fucheng” (Tainan) together, where in this city that blends the ancient and the modern, we will not only engage in conversation about the future of medicine but also appreciate the cultural heritage accumulated over four centuries.

We look forward to your reserved time and presence, to witness together this grand feast of knowledge and culture, and to jointly embark on a new chapter for the association.

Wishing you peace and success, and advancement in your medical career.

Sincerely,

Dr. Yu-Kun Chih

Dear Fellow Colleagues,

I sincerely invite you to participate in the Annual Meeting which will held by The Taiwan Association of Orthodontists (TAO) on December 6th and 7th, 2025, at ICC Tainan.

The association is approaching its 40th anniversary, and this marks the first time the Annual Meeting will be held in Tainan, an ancient capital celebrating its 400th year of establishment! The them this year is “Blended Orthodontics: Tradition & Innovation.” In the field of orthodontics, the blending of old and new showcases the perfect combination of technological advancement and clinical experience. Traditional orthodontic methods, such as metal braces, though long-standing, are highly trusted for their stability and efficiency. With technological advancements, innovative techniques such as digital scanning, clear aligners, and AI diagnostics have emerged, offering more diverse treatment options. However, innovation is not about replacing tradition, but rather engaging in dialogue and integration with it. We will invite numerous renowned local and international speakers to share their valuable experiences and insights with you! Due to new regulations, starting this year, every credit from the academic lectures at the Annual Meeting can be counted towards license renewal. We highly recommend that you do not miss this high-value academic feast!

The meeting venue, ICC Tainan, is located in the heart of Tainan's new metropolitan area. It is just a 5-minute walk from HSR Tainan Station/TRA Shalun Station, and the TRA Shalun Line can reach Tainan Station in the city center in 22 minutes, making transportation very convenient. Doctors from other cities can even make it a same-day round trip! The ICC Tainan is currently the newest and most internationally compliant venue in Taiwan, offering spacious meeting areas and a high-ceiling, pillar-free exhibition hall. This will allow you to comfortably attend lectures, visit exhibitions, and enjoy the rich Tainan cuisine and snacks. Additionally, this year’s meeting will provide members with a complimentary gala dinner, bringing together physicians from across the country at this turn of the year. It will be a great opportunity to meet mentors, get to know seniors and juniors, and catch up with old friends and classmates while reliving past memories!

This year's Tainan meetingwill feature several "first-time" records. A "first" is rare and unique, often the most memorable and cherished... We hope to jointly mark this rare and brilliant imprint with you in the grand flow of time at the TAO Annual Meeting!

Sincerely,

Dr. Chun-Liang Kuo
